With 10,000 wine producers, 53 co-operatives, 130 brokers and 400 négociants, the Bordeaux wine trade (known simply as “la Place de Bordeaux”) is multi-layered and unique in the worldwide wine business. Typically, the top châteaux sell through courtiers (brokers) to the négociants (wine merchant houses) who then sell to importers like Misa. We in turn sell to our valued retail and restaurant partners. The négociants are critical to the Bordeaux wine trade, selling 75% of all Bordeaux’s production to more than 160 countries.
