The Rothschild Rare Vintage 2010 - Champagne Barons de Rothschild | Brand Announcement
The culmination of the Rothschild family’s vision in the Champagne region
When setting up the company in 2005, the Rothschild Family came to the Champagne region with the single-minded objective of achieving excellence. Less than a year later the foundations of this new House had been laid by the creation of an exceptional champagne bearing the hallmark of a great vintage, on a par with the wines produced by the family in its celebrated châteaux.
As it was determined to create champagnes of the utmost elegance, highlighting the majesty of the great Chardonnays, the company’s first vintage champagne naturally had to be a very fine Blanc de Blancs. Its long, ultra-precise production process mirrors the great care taken by the Rothschild Family in the crafting of its most prestigious Grands Vins in France and around the world.
This champagne, produced in very small quantities and available on allocation only, now bears the name The Rothschild Rare Vintage, a symbol of the Family’s personal involvement in its crafting and its ambition to create rare and exceptional wines.
The quintessence of the Barons de Rothschild style
This vintage Blanc de Blancs reflects Champagne Barons de Rothschild’s expertise at its highest level of excellence.
Crafted exclusively from very fine Chardonnays, typical of the Barons de Rothschild style, this delicate champagne illustrates the House’s “art of selection” at its very best through the exclusive use of the finest terroirs in the Côte des Blancs, vinified plot by plot.
The fruit of infinite patience, after a long ageing of more than 9 months in vats with regular bâtonnage (stirring of the lees), the wine was matured on its lees for 8 to 10 years and then allowed to rest for at least 12 more months after disgorgement to regain its balance.
The Rothschild Rare Vintage is the finest expression of this quest for perfect harmony and purity that are a characteristic of the House’s wines.
