Domestic Transportation Manager


We are looking for a dynamic, result driven Domestic Transportation Manager to join our growing team. This role is responsible for managing the procurement of carrier activities serving as the main point of contact for transportation performance and cost. The Transportation Manager will be instrumental in implementing new and future Transportation Management Systems for the company.


  • Procure TL/LTL/IML and eventually Parcel services to offer best in class solutions for prospective and existing customers
  • Manage, develop, and optimize carrier relationships. Promote strong core carrier relationships while negotiating and securing carriers to move freight throughout the business year
  • Maintain continuous communication with carriers, sales reps, and customers
  • Proactively communicate service failures to internal support teams to minimize failures, and promote on time service
  • Identify/Resolve customer complaints quickly and effectively, while ensuring improvements are made to prevent repeat instances
  • Interact with internal departments within the organization and maintain strong relationships with the internal departments
  • In conjunction with the Director of Logistics, develop and provide reports according to prescribed intervals: daily, weekly, monthly, etc.
  • Produce and manage action plans to support any performance deficiencies
  • Generate weekly KPI, spend, and provide forecasting reports to effectively manage areas of responsibility
  • Respond in a timely manner to standard requests from internal and external customers
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Transportation Logistics or Operations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to foster positive relationships and strong teamwork
  • Demonstrated expertise in load planning and shipment optimization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and effective carrier performance preferred
